Newborn & Infant Health Checks
Baby check-ups enable your GP to make sure your child is healthy and progressing well. During these appointments your child's general well-being is monitored and any problems can be picked up early.
Our newborn and infant health checks are conducted in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We allow time for questions you may have and offer personalised advice for your baby.
Baby Growth & Development Monitoring
Your baby will grow and change rapidly during their first year. We keep track of your baby’s weight, length and head circumference at consultations, as well as developmental milestones like moving, communicating, and socialising.
While every child’s development is different, tracking your child’s milestones allows us to ensure your child is meeting targets and provide you with support if necessary.
Baby Immunisations & Vaccinations
Ensuring your baby receives all their vaccinations on time helps protect them against preventable diseases. We administer vaccinations according to the Australian National Immunisation Program schedule and can help you understand your baby’s timeline.
Our GPs will walk you through each vaccine, answer any questions you may have and ensure you and your baby are comfortable.
Feeding, Sleep & Parenting Support
Establishing feeding and sleeping routines are two of the most frequent questions from new parents. Whether you are breastfeeding, bottle feeding or using solids we can offer you sensible advice tailored to your needs.
We can also advise about sleep routines, settling and general parenting matters to give you more confidence on a day-to-day basis.
When to See a Doctor for Your Baby
Of course it's okay to ask for help if something doesn't feel right. You might want to see a GP if your baby is unsettled, feeding badly or not gaining weight as expected, or if they show any signs of illness.
We also want you to come and see us for regular check-ups, even if your baby is healthy. Preventative care is really important too.
What to Expect at Your Baby’s Appointment
At your baby’s check your GP will be relaxed and gentle. The check will usually involve measuring your baby’s growth and asking about feeding and sleeping, as well as how your baby is developing.
If you have any worries however small or big we will take the time to discuss them with you. Our goal is for you to feel good about your baby's appointment.
Baby Development Milestones (0–12 Months)
Right around 6–8 weeks your baby may begin staring into your eyes and responding to noises. At 4 months you'll notice that their head is getting stronger. They may even start rolling.
Your baby may also start sitting with help at around 6 months old. And it's quite likely they'll be starting to display a sense of curiosity about everything going on. Most babies will begin standing and taking their first steps around their first birthday. They will also start to communicate using noises and words.
Every baby is different but if you're ever worried about your baby's development, our GPs are on hand to help.

When to Seek Support
There’s a wide range of what’s considered normal but if you have concerns about mobility, communication or sleep (like chronic insomnia or struggling to settle), it’s beneficial to seek help from your GP. The sooner you reach out, the better.
