Effective Acne Care at Every Stage
Acne is unique at every age. Whether you’re experiencing teenage acne or hormonal acne as an adult, we treat you early to prevent scarring and help you manage your skin for years to come.
Let's help you minimise breakouts and acne inflammation while promoting healthy skincare habits that will continue once your acne has cleared.
What Is Acne and What Causes It?
Acne occurs when pores become plugged with oil, dead skin cells, and sometimes bacteria. It can appear as blackheads or whiteheads, or as swollen pimples on the surface of your skin or cysts underneath.
Acne is common in teenagers due to hormones produced during puberty. However, adult acne exists. Hormonal shifts, periods of stress, or adjustments in skincare routines and daily habits can bring on acne at any point in life.
Typically there is more than one cause. From naturally oily complexions and inflammation to irritating products or everyday stress, each of these elements can contribute to how acne forms and how bad it gets.
When to See a GP for Acne Treatment
Lots of us will start by using pharmacy products. For some people, this is all they’ll need. If your skin isn’t getting better, or your acne is starting to get more uncomfortable or visible, it’s time to seek advice from a medical professional.
We can help if your acne is persistent, painful, or starting to leave scars on your skin. You might also want to visit us if it’s started to impact on your confidence, or you’re feeling frustrated at not knowing where to turn next.
The sooner you seek help, the better. Not only can the right treatment help us more effectively prevent breakouts, but we can also minimise the risk of long term scarring or skin changes.

Personalised Acne Treatment Plans
Acne affects every patient’s skin differently. That’s why we take a personalised approach to your treatment. Your GP will take into account your skin type and the severity of your acne. They’ll create a customised treatment plan that fits your lifestyle and targets your specific needs.
We’ll monitor your skin throughout your treatment, making adjustments to your plan if necessary. Our goal is to give you the tools you need to effectively manage your acne for the long term, not just cover it up.
