Fitness to Drive Report, QLD.

At Narangba Station Medical Centre, we can assist with medical assessments for Fitness to Drive reports. While not every commercial driver needs this, Fitness to Drive reports are often obtained voluntarily or at the request of an employer. These assessments are helpful for anyone needing to prove their fitness to drive, whether for a personal licence or employment-related purposes. Employers may request this assessment for roles that require safe and reliable driving, particularly in the commercial sector.

Completing a Fitness to Drive assessment helps ensure you meet the national standards set by Austroads. This examination can be beneficial for both private and commercial drivers who need to demonstrate their capacity to drive safely under various conditions. How it Works

To complete your assessment and obtain your Fitness to Drive Report, follow these 5 simple steps:

  • Step 1: Make a booking at Narangba Station Medical Centre.
  • Step 2: Print a copy of the AFTD2022 Driver Health Questionnaire Form (Download Here)
  • Step 3: Complete the Questionnaire prior to your booking and bring it with you.
  • Step 4: Attend your appointment at the time of booking.

What To Expect?

The assessment with our experienced doctors will take approximately 15-20 minutes. In order to provide a Fitness to Drive report, you’re required to complete three stages as below:

1. Health Questionnaire

Drivers complete a detailed questionnaire covering medical history, current health conditions, and lifestyle factors that might affect driving abilities. You’ll complete this form prior to attending the assessment.

2. Clinical Examination

Our GP will complete a thorough assessment using this form. This will include vision, hearing, cardiovascular health, neurological and musculoskeletal systems, psychological health, sleep disorders and substance use.

3. Fitness to Drive Report

Our doctor will complete and provide you with a Fitness to Drive Report indicating whether you meet the medical criteria unconditionally,  conditionally with possible restrictions or requirements for periodic review, or do not meet the criteria.

4. Additional Considerations

Drivers aged over 75 must undergo annual medical assessments to maintain their licence. Those holding commercial driving licences may be subject to more stringent standards and more frequent assessments.
