When you book repeat scripts or referrals online through the AMS Connect App or our website, you will be prompted to enter your credit or debit card details before booking this service. You will also be asked to enter your email address, which will be used only to send your invoice or receipt of payment. For patient privacy, we do not automatically use the email provided on your patient file. 

Providing this information will secure your service request and the payment will only be processed through AutoMed after the script or referral has been issued. Similarly, when you book a telehealth appointment you will be sent an invoice by SMS and you can enter your card details for a one-off payment or store your card details for future payments.

Sometimes, we may request immediate payment for an outstanding account. If you opt to store your card details for future payments, we can deduct this charge automatically. Otherwise, you will be sent an SMS to securely enter your credit or debit card details and you will be charged straight away.

AutoMed will send you an SMS, email or push notification. Legitimate links will only ever include:

• automedsystems.com.au

The message will include our clinic's name and ask you to settle your invoice (set out as Day, Date, Month, and Year). You will then be prompted to enter your date of birth to verify your identity.

Note: You will never be sent or asked to click on an AutoMed link with a different domain. Please check the spelling is correct.

You may be required to add your card details when booking an appointment, but you will not be charged the full fee until after your appointment has taken place. A temporary $1 charge may appear to validate your card, which AutoMed will refund this validation fee almost immediately.

There may be times when you are required to make upfront payments for things that cannot be rebated through Medicare. You may also receive an SMS payment request with an AutoMed link for outstanding accounts, which should be paid as soon as possible.  You will not be able to book any appointments online if you have an outstanding account.

When you book online and select your preferred appointment type, you will be provided with an estimate of what the doctor will charge for the appointment. This will include a transaction surcharge. If your appointment varies in length or there are more issues discussed, the cost may change. You will be provided with an invoice/payment receipt when this payment has been processed.

The Credit Card number secures an appointment and confirms the date and time. Your doctor will review the invoice before charging you for the appointment. Should the doctor decide to Bulk Bill, there will be no funds collected.

Whilst your credit card details secure your appointment, you are not charged until after you have consulted with the doctor. If you need to cancel your appointment, you can do this online, on the AMS Connect App, or by calling the clinic. Your credit card will not be charged.  However, if the minimum requirement of two (2) hours notification prior to cancellation is not provided, you may be charged a cancellation fee.

After you have paid for your appointment in full, our receptionist will submit the rebate to Medicare on your behalf. Medicare will allocate the rebate to your nominated bank account.  If you have not received this rebate within 48 hours please contact the practice.

Patients can opt-in to save their payment details for future appointment transactions. Our receptionist will be able to view some digits of your card number, e.g. 5974 XXXX XXXX 5974.

Payment will be made using TYRO. This is the same machine that is used when making payments in person at the clinic.

A $1 pending charge is processed on your card when adding a payment method. This temporary pre-authorisation is used to verify your card details. You will never be charged this amount; it will be refunded almost immediately.

This is the pre-authorisation payment mentioned above.
